Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and descriptions, test principles, test equipment, samples, test procedures, numerical rounding off of test results, and test reports for stress relaxation tests of metallic materials. This standard is applicable to the test method of tensile stress relaxation performance of metallic materials under constant strain and temperature conditions. The high temperature ring bending stress relaxation test can also be carried out with reference to this standard, see Appendix A.
