Scope

This standard specifies the basic safety requirements for the design, manufacture, installation, use, inspection, modification and maintenance of heating furnaces for the petroleum industry. This standard applies to fire tube heating furnaces and tubular heating furnaces used in the onshore petroleum industry, hereinafter referred to as heating furnaces.
