Scope: This standard specifies the terminology of thermal spray coating thickness measurement, selection of measurement methods, determination of reference surface and measurement of local thickness. This standard applies to all thermal spraying methods, including flame spraying, arc spraying, plasma spraying, etc., for the thickness measurement and evaluation of non-magnetic coatings on various magnetic metal substrates and non-conductive coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates.
