Scope

This standard specifies the method for non-destructive measurement of the thickness of non-magnetic coatings (including enamel and enamel layers) on magnetic base metals using magnetic thickness gauges. This method is only suitable for measurements on properly flat specimens. The method specified in GB/T l3744 is preferred for the thickness measurement of the nickel coating on the non-magnetic substrate.
