This standard specifies the requirements, testing, inspection rules, markings and quality certificates for marine diesel engine steel forgings. This standard applies to the manufacturing and acceptance of carbon structural steel, alloy structural steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant steel and other forgings (hereinafter referred to as forgings) for medium and low-speed marine diesel engines. This standard does not apply to the manufacturing and acceptance of marine diesel engine crankshaft forgings.
