- This standard specifies the principles, definitions, symbols and descriptions of tensile test methods for metallic materials, specimens and their dimensional measurements, test equipment, test requirements, performance measurements, rounding off of test results, and test reports. This standard is applicable to the determination of the tensile properties of metal materials at room temperature, but for the tensile tests of metal products with small cross-sectional sizes, such as metal foils, ultra-fine wires and capillaries, an agreement is required.
