This standard specifies the method for determining the content of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and ethyl mercaptan in crude oil by gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of stable crude oil with hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and ethyl mercaptan content in the range of 2.0 mg/kg to 200 mg/kg. It is also suitable for the determination of crude oils with high sulfide content by diluting with sulfur-free solvents.
