Scope: This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the safe and independent access and use of elevators by persons including persons with disabilities listed in Table B.1 of Appendix B. The elevators to which this standard applies meet the minimum car size requirements in Table 1, and are equipped with power-driven automatic horizontal sliding car doors and landing doors. This standard considers the accessibility of elevators for people using wheelchairs of the dimensions specified in GB/T 13800-1992 and GB/T 12996-1991. This standard specifies additional technical requirements to reduce the injuries prone to occur when disabled persons mentioned in Chapter 4 use elevators.
