- This standard specifies the structure and classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks, inspection certificates and instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage of high-activity cobalt-60 sealed radioactive sources. This standard applies to cobalt-60γ sources for teletherapy and cobalt-60γ sources for industrial irradiation with radioactivity (hereinafter referred to as activity) greater than 10TBq. It is also suitable for cobalt 60 gamma source for gamma knife treatment, cobalt 60 gamma source for container inspection and cobalt 60 gamma source with activity greater than 10TBq for other purposes.
