Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, marking, packaging, storage and transportation, and sampling of food-grade microcrystalline wax. This standard applies to food-grade microcrystalline waxes obtained from heavy fractions of petroleum or solvent deasphalted oils of vacuum residues through solvent refining, dewaxing, deoiling, and then refining with clay or hydrotreating.
