Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, and requirements for packaging and transportation of nuclear-grade sinterable uranium dioxide powder (referred to as uranium dioxide powder). This standard applies to any ²³⁵ U-enriched uranium dioxide powder for the preparation of pellets for use in nuclear reactors. This standard refers specifically to uranium dioxide powder without any other additives (such as lubricating oil, binder, pore-forming agent). This standard does not include the requirements for preventing critical safety accidents and occupational health. The user is obliged to establish an appropriate safety and occupational health system and determine compliance with the requirements of the regulations before use.
