Scope

This standard specifies requirements for engineering nickel and nickel alloy coatings on ferrous and nonferrous metals. This standard does not apply to binary nickel alloy electroplating layers in which nickel is a small component. The designation provides a means of indicating the type and thickness of nickel and nickel alloy coatings for engineering purposes.
