This part of GB/T 7095 specifies the requirements for grade 120 single-coated enamelled copper flat winding wires based on polyvinyl acetal resin. Resins may be modified if the chemical properties of the original resin are preserved and all requirements specified for enameled wire are met. Class 120 indicates a thermal class, which requires a minimum temperature index of 120 and a thermal shock temperature of at least 155°C. The Celsius temperature corresponding to the temperature index is not the recommended temperature for magnet wire use, because it depends on many factors including the type of equipment used. The nominal size range of conductors applicable to this section is: wide side size: minimum 2.00mm, maximum 16.00mm; narrow side size: minimum 0.80mm, maximum 5.60mm. This standard covers flat enamelled copper wires of Class 1 and Class 2 film thicknesses and applies to the full range of conductor sizes. See GB/T 7095.1-2008 for the combination of wide side size and narrow side size and width/narrow ratio.
