- Scope
- This standard specifies a method for evaluating the moisture resistance of coating films, coating systems and similar products in a high-humidity environment with continuous condensation in accordance with coating requirements or product specifications. The coated substrates to which this standard applies include porous substrates (such as wood, gypsum and plasterboard) and non-porous substrates (such as metals). This method specifies a continuous condensation performance test that may occur on a coated surface under severe exposure conditions. This test method reveals signs of coating failure (including blistering, staining, softening, wrinkling, and embrittlement) as well as substrate failure.
