Scope

This part specifies the determination of carbon content of manganese-silicon alloy, ferromanganese, blast furnace ferromanganese, ferromanganese nitride, metallic manganese and electrolytic metallic manganese by infrared absorption method, gas volumetric method, gravimetric method and coulometric method. This section applies to the determination of carbon content in manganese-silicon alloy, ferromanganese, blast furnace ferromanganese, ferromanganese nitride, metallic manganese and electrolytic metallic manganese. Among them, the infrared absorption method is suitable for the determination of 0.01% to 10.00% carbon content (mass fraction) in manganese-silicon alloy, ferromanganese (including blast furnace ferromanganese), ferromanganese nitride, metal manganese and electrolytic metal manganese; gas volumetric method is applicable Determination of 0.40% to 5.00% carbon content (mass fraction) in manganese silicon alloy and ferromanganese (including blast furnace ferromanganese); gravimetric method is suitable for 4.00% to 8.00% carbon content in ferromanganese (including blast furnace ferromanganese) (mass fraction) determination; coulometric method is suitable for the determination of 0.010% to 0.400% carbon content (mass fraction) in metal manganese and electrolytic metal manganese.
