- Scope
- This part of GB/T 18876 stipulates the various steps of automatic image analysis and determination of carbide liquid analysis and carbide ribbon level in chromium bearing steel according to GB/T 18254-2002 technical standard. Also described are methods for the automatic image determination of carbide banding levels in tool and bearing steels according to ISO 5949-1983 and in special steels according to SEP 1520-1998. This section does not involve the determination of pearlite and carbide network. This standard is a recommended test method only and does not prescribe acceptance levels for any steel or other metal. This section does not describe the safety issues related to the application. It is the user's responsibility to establish proper safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of the regulatory provisions before applying this section.
