Scope
This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and labeling, packaging, storage and transportation of feed additive lutein products. This standard applies to the use of fat-soluble extracts from the plant marigold as raw materials, after saponification, to make water preparations or to use auxiliary materials such as starch, corncob powder, and white carbon black. The active ingredients are mainly lutein and its isomers. Body zeaxanthin, there are also a small amount of other carotenoids and waxes, used as colorant feed additives in the feed industry.
