1.1 This standard specifies the use of gas chromatography to determine the purity and impurity content of industrial methyl ethyl ketone. This standard is applicable to the determination of methyl ethyl ketone samples with a purity greater than 99% (mass fraction). When using a hydrogen flame ionization detector (FID), the minimum detection concentration of impurities is 0.001% (mass fraction); when using a thermal conductivity detector (TCD), the minimum detection concentration of impurities is 0.01% (mass fraction). 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all safety issues associated with its use. Therefore, users of this standard should establish appropriate safety and protective measures in advance and determine appropriate regulations.
