Each part of GB/T 33061 stipulates various methods for determining the dynamic mechanical properties of rigid plastics in the range of linear viscoelastic behavior. This part is an introductory part, including the general definitions and aspects of the test methods in the subsequent sub-parts. The results produced by the different deformation modes are not directly comparable. For example, in tensile vibrations the stress acting on the sample is uniform throughout the thickness, whereas in bending methods the surface properties of the specimen are the dominant factor. Only in the strain range where the structure of the sample is uniform and the stress-strain relationship is linear, the data obtained by the bending test and the tensile test are comparable.
