Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the roughness of paper and board with a Benderson instrument using a constant pressure airflow. This standard is applicable to paper and paperboard with a Bendtsen roughness value between 50 and 1200mL/min, and not applicable to fluffy paper, high air permeability paper or uneven paper.
