Scope
This document specifies the routine test, sampling test, type test, pre-qualification test, pre-qualification extension test and post-installation electrical test for XLPE insulated large-length AC submarine cables and accessories with a rated voltage of 500kV (Um = 550kV). methods and requirements. This document is applicable to the test of AC submarine cable accessories such as 500kV XLPE insulated AC submarine cables (including optical fiber composites), factory joints (soft joints), repair joints, transition joints and terminals between submarine cables and land cables. This document does not apply to tests of dynamic cables for special applications such as offshore floating platforms.
