Scope: This document specifies the test methods for assessing the effects of accidental contact with fluids by parts, equipment or their constituent materials (hereinafter referred to as test samples). The fluids listed in this document are representative of those commonly encountered in service. Test samples do not have to be exposed to all or some of the listed fluids, nor are the listed fluids complete. If the fluid used in the test is not listed in this document, it shall be listed in the relevant specification. Appendix A provides guidance on the selection of test fluids, test samples and severity levels. This document is not suitable for verifying the suitability for operation of parts or equipment in continuous contact with fluid, such as impregnated fuel pumps, nor is it suitable for verifying the ability to resist electrolytic corrosion.
