Scope
This document describes the basic method of ultrasonic testing using the pulse reflection method from the inner surface of forgings using longitudinal wave dual-element probes, including testing personnel requirements, general requirements, ultrasonic testing equipment, preparation of forgings for ultrasonic testing, testing procedures, recording requirements and testing Report. This document is applicable to the manual inspection method of cylindrical forgings with an inner diameter of ≥64 mm, but does not limit the use of other inspection methods, such as mechanized or automated inspection methods.
