Scope
This document specifies general requirements for the construction, testing and marking of Ex equipment and Ex components for explosive atmospheres. This document applies to equipment intended for use in explosive gas atmospheres or explosive dust atmospheres, including equipment specified in supplementary documents listed in this document, as general requirements for these equipment when used in explosive atmospheres. It can be assumed that the Ex equipment can operate under the following standard atmospheric conditions (related to the explosive characteristics of the environment): --- temperature: -20 ℃ ~ +60 ℃; --- pressure: 80kPa ~ 110kPa; --- normal oxygen content in the air : Usually 21% (volume fraction). This document and other supplementary standards specify additional test requirements for Ex equipment operating outside the standard temperature range. Further additional consideration and testing may be required for Ex equipment operating outside the standard pressure range and standard oxygen content. Such additional tests are useful for relying on extinguishing flames (such as flameproof enclosure "d", GB/T3836.2) or limiting energy (intrinsically safe "
