EN ISO 14253-5:2015 Geometrical product specifications (GPS) - Inspection by measurement of workpieces and measuring equipment - Part 5: Uncertainty in verification testing of indicating measuring instruments (ISO 14253-5:2015)
This part of ISO 14253 specifies the concepts and terms to address the uncertainties of the test values derived from a test procedure agreed upon by the parties involved, obtained in a verification test of displaying GPS measuring devices, in relation to the display(s) of the measuring devices concerned to rate. NOTE The uncertainty of the test values referred to as the test value uncertainty should not be confused with the measurement uncertainty associated with the use of the relevant indicating measuring device for measuring workpieces. In this part of ISO 14253 only the former of these two uncertainties is addressed; for information on the second, see ISO/IEC Guide 98-3 (GUM) and ISO 14253-2. In the event that the test of an indicating measuring instrument involves several test values, some of which relate to the indication of the measuring instrument and some of which relate to other metrological properties, this part of ISO 14253 applies only to the uncertainty of the former. This part of ISO 14253 does not provide guidelines for ensuring the accuracy of a test instruction; Rather, once a test instruction is available, it describes how the resulting test value uncertainty is to be assessed.
