- This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for sterile single-use insulin syringes intended for single-use use only and intended for human injection immediately after aspiration of insulin. This standard applies to syringes for injecting 40 units per milliliter (U-40) and 100 units per milliliter (U-100) insulin. This standard does not apply to syringes for long-term storage of insulin.
