Scope: This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and safety of isoprene for industrial use. This standard applies to isopentene products produced from C5 fraction as raw material through etherification, etherolysis reaction and distillation. Isopentenes include 2-methyl-1-butene and 2-methyl-2-butene. Simplified structural formula: CH=C(CH)CHCH and CHC(CH)=CHCH.
