Scope

This standard specifies the use of gas chromatography to determine the purity of petroleum m-xylene and its hydrocarbon impurity content. This standard is applicable to the determination of petroleum meta-xylene with a purity of not less than 99.0% (mass fraction), para-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, para-xylene, o-xylene, n-propylbenzene and cumene and other hydrocarbons The detection range of impurities is (0.001~1.000)% (mass fraction).
