This standard specifies the main characteristics of linear motion displacement, velocity and acceleration sensors (hereinafter referred to as "sensors") that should be calibrated and the basic concepts of calibration methods. This standard applies to the calibration of sensors with electrical output. This standard does not apply to the calibration of acceleration sensors for measuring rotational motion and inertial navigation.
