Scope

To evaluate the maintainability of a product, maintainability data at different moments in the product life cycle are required. The purpose of this standard is to outline what needs to be considered when collecting, analyzing and presenting maintainability data. The collection, analysis and representation of maintainability data are required to be carried out during the design period, production period and working period of the product. These data are generally provided to prospective users by the product supplier in the form of maintainability data reports. The data reports include data and basic principles. The main maintainability data are repair and maintenance downtime and man-hours. Maintenance support information should also be provided. This information should describe the personnel and facilities required. When expressing maintainability data, it is important to consider maintenance rules, terms and definitions, data source descriptions, analysis procedures, and data representation methods. This standard outlines the scope of the various elements presented above.
