Scope
This part of GB/T 13870 provides a contact voltage-duration combined threshold curve by analyzing the current threshold data of human body impedance and physiological effects in GB/T 13870.1-2008. These combined threshold curves show the relationship to the specific current path body impedance determined by specific environmental and exposure conditions. This section only studies the following cases: (i) 50 Hz/60 Hz sinusoidal AC voltage without other frequency components or significant DC components; (ii) DC voltage without significant AC components. Due to the uncertainty of the values in GB/T 13870.1-2008, the voltage thresholds calculated based on it provided in this section also have uncertainties. This section does not consider the situation of the body immersed in water and medical applications. The combined exposure voltage-duration threshold curve can be used as a guideline for determining limits for exposure voltage and duration under various environmental conditions. Determination of limit values needs to be based on a risk assessment. Factors to be considered in the risk assessment include the voltage thresholds provided in this section (taking into account the area of contact, skin wetness conditions, current path through the body), and other factors not covered. For example: --Reduce the possibility of contact (by barriers, barriers, warning signs, protective measures placed beyond the arm's reach, personnel training, etc.); or --Reduce the contact voltage relative to the fault voltage (for example, by Equipotential bonding); or - additional resistance in series with the human body (eg gloves, shoes, carpets, etc.).
