Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of the degree of etherification of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose for detergents. This standard is applicable to the determination of crude and refined sodium carboxymethyl cellulose with a degree of etherification below 0.85, and the measurement results for samples with a degree of etherification above 0.85 are low.
