Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation and storage of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) used in detergents. This standard applies to sodium carboxymethyl cellulose produced from cellulose as raw material through alkalinization with sodium hydroxide and etherification with sodium monochloroacetate. The product is used as an anti-redeposition agent in detergent formulations.
