This standard specifies the requirements for electrical and electronic equipment installed on general ships (including offshore platforms) and special ships (such as survey ships, ocean research ships, test ships, etc.) and the overall electromagnetic compatibility of ships. This standard applies to electrical and electronic equipment with a voltage between conductors not greater than 500V (DC or AC) or a voltage between conductors and ground not greater than 250V (DC) or 220V (AC RMS). It is not suitable for electrical and electronic equipment used in situations where the frequency exceeds 400Hz.
