- This standard specifies the geometric conditions for measuring the diffuse transmission density, and the geometric conditions for measuring the f/4.5 and f/1.6 projected transmission densities. Diffuse transmission density is primarily used to measure photographic images, which include transmitted images viewed directly on an illuminator, master images in contact with a print, and projected images with diffuse illumination. Also suitable for filter and other thin film measurements.
