Scope: This standard establishes a qualification system for personnel whose non-destructive testing (NDT) is performed in limited applications, repetitive or automated tasks, such as: a) eddy current and electromagnetic sorting of materials; b) during manufacturing Eddy current and electromagnetic testing of pipe products; c) Direct ultrasonic testing of plates during the manufacturing process; d) Ultrasonic thickness measurement; e) Electromagnetic testing of steel wire ropes. These examples are not intended to limit the scope of other qualifications that may be covered by this standard. This standard does not apply to magnetic particle testing (MT) or penetrant testing (PT). If it is stipulated in product standards, regulations, regulations or specifications that non-destructive testing personnel need to be qualified, and the nature of the testing is limited or automatic, then it is inappropriate or excessive to conduct qualification certification according to the requirements of GB/T 9445. Standards for qualification are acceptable. The requirements stated in this standard are only applicable to the qualification of NDT personnel for special applications, and should not be directly equivalent to the NDT levels defined in GB/T 9445. However, it is recommended that personnel qualified in accordance with this standard work under the supervision of a level 2 or level 3 NDT personnel certified in accordance with GB/T 9445, preferably.
