Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for general-purpose computer monitors (hereinafter referred to as monitors), the calculation of energy consumption per unit time of the monitor, the calculation of energy efficiency, measurement methods and inspection rules. This standard applies to liquid crystal displays used in computers, and also to display devices with a tuner/receiver whose main function is a computer display. This standard does not apply to displays for professional purposes such as engineering, medical, and industrial equipment.
