- This standard stipulates that the sample is rubbed on a certain level of abrasive cloth to cause wear, and the volumetric wear of the sample is measured. Based on the calibrated emery cloth, the test results are expressed in terms of volume abrasion or abrasion index relative to a certain standard glue. This standard applies to the determination of the wear resistance of vulcanized rubber with a rotating roller device.
