- Scope
- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of medium molecular weight polyisobutylene. This standard applies to medium molecular weight polyisobutylene with a viscosity average molecular weight of 20 000 to 100 000 produced using the Lewis acid catalyzed polymerization process. The viscosity average molecular weight is hereinafter referred to as "molecular weight". This product is mainly used to manufacture various sealants, hot melt adhesives and other industrial adhesives. It can also be used as insulation materials, waterproof materials and oil additives.
