Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the yield value of crude oil using a coaxial cylinder rotational viscometer with shear rate as the control variable. This standard is applicable to the determination of crude oil with a wax content (mass fraction) greater than 5% and a water content (mass fraction) less than 0.5%. It is also applicable to the determination of crude oil treated with heat treatment or additives.
