Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of the tensile shear strength of the bond between vulcanized rubber and metal. This standard is applicable to the shear specimens prepared under specified conditions of rubber bonded to two parallel metal sheets. Rubber and metal can be vulcanized and bonded, or vulcanized rubber can be bonded with adhesive.
