Scope
This part of GB/T 18798 specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of solid instant tea. This part applies to the instant tea (water-soluble solid) made from tea tree (Camellia sinensis LOkuntze) buds, leaves, and tender stems through water extraction, separation, concentration, and drying. This section does not apply to instant teas containing non-tea carbohydrates as bulking or bulking agents, instant teas containing flavoring substances extracted from other than tea trees, and decaffeinated (low) instant teas.
