- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of defoaming agents (sucrose polyoxypropylene ether) used in the sugar industry. This standard applies to sucrose polyoxypropylene ether, which is a non-ionic surfactant produced by the ring-opening polymerization of sucrose and propylene oxide as starters under the action of a catalyst.
