This International Standard specifies requirements for the processing of ferrous metals, aluminum, zinc, cadmium and their alloys to produce coatings consisting essentially of inorganic phosphates, intended to be used in conjunction with complementary treatments to protect the base metal against corrosion and anti-wear properties on sliding surfaces, adhesion for organic coatings and facilitation in cold forming processes.
