- Scope
- This standard specifies the low-magnification structure and defect morphology characteristics, causes and evaluation principles of continuous cast steel billets. This standard is applicable to the evaluation of acid-etched low-magnification structural defects in the cross-section of billets such as carbon steel and low alloy steel produced by continuous casting processes. The cross-sectional dimensions of square billets range from 90mm to 400mm in side length, and rectangular billets can also be used as a reference.
