This standard specifies the test instruments, test procedures, calibration and inspection, accuracy and deviation of the hardness tester, and test report for the test method of using a portable hardness tester to test the indentation hardness of metal materials. This test method is only applicable to portable hardness testers using exactly the same nominal test force and indenter as specified in national standards GB/T 231.1, GB/T 230.1, and GB/T 4340.1. Portable hardness testers are mainly used to measure parts that are large in size and weight, are on fixed equipment, are difficult to measure using conventional hardness testers, and cannot apply test force vertically. This standard does not cover all aspects of safety in use. It is the user's responsibility to develop appropriate safety and health regulations and determine their suitability before use.
