Scope: This standard specifies the main characteristics of clamping parts suitable for wires from 0.2mm² to 35mm², the connection of wires, structural requirements, and technical requirements for test methods. This standard applies to threaded and non-threaded clamping parts as an independent unit or an integral part of the equipment, whose rated AC voltage does not exceed 1000V, frequency does not exceed 1000Hz and rated DC voltage does not exceed 1500V, and is used for connection in accordance with GB Hard (single-core or stranded) copper conductors and/or soft copper conductors with a cross-sectional area of 0.2mm² or more to 35mm² (or the corresponding AWG wire gauge size) required by /T 3956. This standard applies to clamps intended primarily for the connection of untreated conductors. This standard does not apply to: a) Clamping parts for crimping or soldering connections; b) Clamping parts for digital or signal circuits; c) Flat quick-connect terminals, insulation-piercing connectors and twist-on connectors and other clamping parts; the distribution of these clamping parts is summarized in standards such as GB 17196, GB 13140.4 and GB 13140.5.
