Scope

This part of GB/T 16716 specifies the requirements for evaluating the biodegradability and compostability of packaging and packaging materials, test schemes, verification of biodegradability, disintegration judgment and quality of composted finished products. This section applies to enterprises using waste composting (including the production of biogas) to evaluate compostable packaging. This section does not apply to the decomposition of packaging waste in the natural environment and various residues in packaging.
