Scope
This part specifies the method for non-destructive determination of anodized film thickness of aluminum and aluminum alloys using a split-beam microscope. This section applies to general industrial oxide films with a film thickness greater than 10 μm, or oxide films with a smooth surface with a film thickness of not less than 5 μm. This section does not apply to dark oxide films or oxide films with rough surfaces.
