This standard specifies the use conditions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging of composite jacketed metal oxide arresters for AC transmission lines. This standard is applicable to lightning arresters for 10kV ~ 500kV AC transmission lines. The arrester is only used to limit the lightning overvoltage of the line to protect the line insulators from insulation flashover caused by lightning.
